NAVIGATOR – The Obvious Choice
NAVIGATOR is built on a platform of simple, reliable solutions combined with ease of use and excellent serviceability.
Versatile options include 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 litre tank capacities and advanced electronics, making NAVIGATOR the obvious choice in countless operations – from row cropping to small broadacre.
With a proven HARDI diaphragm pump and a choice of strong, wide booms in steel or aluminium, NAVIGATOR is the key to accuracy, efficiency and productivity.
IntelliTrack
IntelliTrack is a high-end steering drawbar concept that combines an excellent chassis design with advanced electronics.
The tracking concept is easy to connect and operate, ensuring safe tracking even in difficult field conditions.
IntelliTrack has an integrated safety feature which prevents the cylinders from steering the drawbar when the driving speed is too high for the given track width.
DynamicFluid4
DynamicFluid4 ensures fast, precise control of the spray rate.
The system instantly compensates for changes that will affect flow at the nozzles such as rpm changes, acceleration, turning, and AutoSection switching.
The system includes a SoftStart feature to prevent pressure peaks, and sensor backup so an electronics fault won’t stop the spray job.
Wide choice of booms
The versatile NAVIGATOR range is enhanced by a flexible choice of boom options, to help drive efficiency and productivity on every property.
Building on the sprayer’s unique HARDI boom ride, operators can select strong steel booms designed for rougher paddocks and higher spraying speeds, or wide and light HARDI PARAGON aluminium booms to maximise coverage without adding excess weight.
EAGLE: Simple, robust booms from 18 to 30 m
FORCE: Wide and strong for higher speeds and coverage 30 to 36 m (5000 & 6000 only)
PARAGON TR4: High performance aluminium booms 24 to 30 m
PARAGON B3 MAJOR: Extra productivity without weight at 36.5 m (5000 & 6000 only)
Advanced boom ride
The HARDI AutoSlant, AutoHeight and AutoTerrain systems ensure superior boom ride and height control, to help optimise the spray application and reduce operator workload.
HARDI’s unique AutoTerrain technology reacts to both boom movements and twisting forces at the boom centre. This helps the system to proactively respond to movement causes rather than the boom’s reaction.
The combination of boom management system also protects vauable spraying equipment by smoothing out inertia forces acting through the boom, and reducing the risk of ground strike to near zero.
Strong frame
The heavy-duty NAVIGATOR chassis is built in high-tensile Domex steel ensuring exceptional strength under the most difficult conditions. The design features the lowest possible centre of gravity, for overall stability, without compromising vital crop clearance.
No brake rods or steering components are lower than the axle, to minimise crop drag.
The drawbar connection on the tractor will always be the lowest point on the sprayer, and the tractor’s axle is usually lower than the NAVIGATOR chassis.
The long drawbar is bolted underneath the frame, providing good driving stability and absorbing the up-and-down forces of uneven ground.
Easy inspections
NAVIGATOR is built for convenient inspection. A low front plaform with folding steps provides safe access to the main tank lid while the tank’s design – with curved walls and a forward lid location – gives an excellent view of all internal surfaces.
All major electronics are located behind the right front cover, makign them easy to access and service, while fluid system components are grouped under a steel cover built into the front access platform.
Suction filter and pressure gauges are mounted above this platform, so they are protected from the elements and easily monitored from the tractor seat.
IntelliTrack
NAVIGATOR is also available with the IntelliTrack drawbar for improved tracking and tighter turning. The IntelliTrack drawbar features a rearward-inclined pivot for optimum stability. Two large hydraulic cylinders work with proportional valves and advanced eletronics to ensure safe, accurate tracking through turns.
If there is a risk that a high speed turn could compromise stability, Dynamic Electronic Control will prevent the cylinders from over-steering the drawbar.
Using the system is simple. Once IntelliTrack has been calibrated, the operator only needs to hitch up NAVIGATOR and attach two small chains to the tractor before starting to spray.
Axles and brakes
NAVIGATOR provides a flexible choice of axle widths to suit any owner’s tramlines, irrigation installation and crop spacings.
The 3000 and 4000 versions are available with 1.8 m or 2.0 m fixed widths, or a 1.5 m to 2.25 m adjustable track. NAVIGATOR 5000 and 6000 is offered with a 3.0 m fixed traclk or a 1.8 m to 2.25 m adjustable axle.
The NAVIGATOR is offered with the choice of four different brake systems, or no brakes at all for the 3000 and 4000 litre versions.
Regardless of the system installed, none of the braking components (such as brake arms or cylinders) will be lower than the main axle for optimum crop clearance.
Smooth Ride
The optional SmoothRide suspension is a simple and reliable system that needs virtually no maintenance.
Two polyurethane dampers absorb axle movements on uneven ground to give the tank and boom a smoother ride, allowing higher capacity and improving operator comfort. The suspension means the boom endures lower forces during road transport and while spraying paddocks. This helps enable better height control for more accurate spraying, and contributes to boom life.
The dampers are designed for the sprayer’s full weight range, from full to empty.
ParaLift
The HARDI ParaLift parallelogram boom lift system has demonstrated its excellent performance on more than 20,000 trailed sprayers.
Compared to traditional H-frame systems, Paralift only requires basic lubrication and adjustment to perform reliably year after year. With no sliding parts, just horizontal bolts and an automatic mechanical transport lock, it provides excellent boom stability and control.
Paralift is a push type system, meaning the hydraulic cylinder is extended while the boom is raised.
Main tank
The tough, durable polyethylene tanks of the NAVIGATOR are produced as a single seamless moulding. They have a very smooth internal surfaces surface with no sediment traps.
To keep the sprayer as stable as possible the tanks are made wider at the bottom and completely integrated into the frame design.
A sloping floor moves remaining liquid forwards as the tank is emptied, to maintain weight on the drawbar. This ensures that the tractor retains its traction, even when going up slopes with an almost empty tank.
Rinse tank
The optional 500 l RinseTank for NAVIGATOR carries plenty of water for both inside and outside cleaning, and is located over the rear axle to ensure consistent weight stability as the main tank is emptied.
The Rinse Tank is quickly filled via a 1″ inlet in the sprayer WorkZone, and a level indicator on the left-hand side of the WorkZone is easily monitored during the various stages of cleaning.
Two rinse nozzles are included as standard with the Rinse Tank option.
SmartValve
All primary functions needed to operate the sprayer for filling and cleaning have been combined into two large pump control handles in the centre of the WorkZone.
These logically placed handles and their easy-to-read colour-coded icons make the system very easy to understand and operate.
The SmartValve system greatly reduces start-up and clean-up time when operating NAVIGATOR.
Pump
NAVIGATOR features HARDI’s new 364 and 464 model diaphragm pumps. These offer several improvements, including redesigned cylinder heads to reduce pressure drops by improving flow in the diaphragm tops. The pumps are:
Self-priming
Able to run dry without damage
Easy to service
Grease-lubricated crankcase
For easier service there are new integrated lifting hooks and the greasing points for the front and rear bearings have been moved to the front of the pump. The cast conrod support ring has also been redesigned to improve durability.
Most obviously, new black covers protect the pump from mud and water.
EasyClean filter
The EasyClean filter is a high capacity suction filter. The condition of the filter can be constantly monitored via a SafeSpray vacuum gauge.
This ensures that the filter is only cleaned as needed. Simply twisting the lid through 90° will simultaneously close the inlet valve and open the filter for inspection.
CycloneFilter
The HARDI CycloneFilter is a unique pressure filter that uses a high-speed circular flow for powerful self-cleaning. This ‘cyclone’ action increases the speed of the liquid against the filter screen, making the self-cleaning action much more effective.
The CycloneFilter also has a boost function allowing the filter to be flushed when needed.
The filter’s design means it can be mounted upright, reducing the risk of spills and pressure loss during inspections.
TurboFiller
The HARDI TurboFiller can handle large quantities of powders and liquids. Its high capacity is achieved through a combination of high vacuum and liquid rotation produced by a TurboDeflector inside the hopper.
High pressure water creates a powerful rotation inside the hopper, thoroughly mixing powder or liquid before it is sucked into the sprayer. Maximum capacity is achieved when the TurboFiller is more than half-filled with water.
A spring-loaded bracket lowers the TurboFiller to a convenient height for filling. It then lifts back up against the side of the COMMANDER for spraying.
EFC boom section valves
The ElectricFastControl (EFC) is a modular system with a positive drive motor valve for each section, plus a single pressure dump valve for when all sections are selected OFF.
The system provide simple, effective pressure to each boom section, and relieves line pressure to the nozzles when a section is switch off. This results in instant shut-off at the nozzles, with no pressure to force drips or leaks.
The EFC does not require pressure equalisation or any other form of adjustment.
HC 8600 / HC 9600
HARDI’s HC 8600 and HC 9600 touchscreen spray controllers keep all vital spraying functions at your fingertips. Both are fully ISOBUS compatible and can be used to control a variety of intelligent machine functions such as AutoWash and PrimeFlow, or you can replace them with your own choice of ISOBUS controller.
The HC 9600 and HC 8600 offer similar features – except the HC 9600 uses a high-definition 12.1″ display while the HC 8600 has a more compact 8.4″ touchscreen. Both display intuitive tools and real time mapping, as well as guidance, data logging, application reports, GPS controlled spraying, automated steering and more.
Having a single, integrated and purpose-designed workscreen makes it easy to manage critical spraying functions such as GeoSteer, AutoTerrain/ AutoHeight/AutoSlant and AutoSection Control, as well as guidance and dosing.
AutoSectionControl
AutoSectionControl automatically opens and closes boom section to avoid repeat spraying when passing over a sprayed area – such as in headland or while avoiding obstacles in the field.
The HC8600 and HC9600 both have AutoSectionControl as a standard feature and only need to be connected to a GPS receiver. When spraying, the AutoSectionControl will automatically record the areas that have been sprayed then close sections as the boom passes back over the same ground.
HC 5500
The HARDI Controller HC 5500 is the choice where IntelliTrack steering and advanced farming tools are desired. It can also automate functions like the Foam Marker. Furthermore, the operator is instantly informed of operation status and warned when vital parameters like pressure, speed, etc are not correct.
It is advanced farming, ready with up to 98 registers and the possibility of connection to a site-specific application map or a remote sensor as well as a 12 volt printer.
DynamicFluid4
DynamicFluid4 (DF4) is a powerful, pre-emptive pressure controller that ensures fast, precise control of the spray application rate.
Using four auto-redundant sensors to monitorifluid pressure, fluid flow, pump rpm and its own valve position, the DF4 controller detects changes that will affect flow at the nozzles (an rpm change, for example) and proactively adjusts system pressure to compensate.
With response rates that far exceed stringent European requirements, DynamicFluid4 is ideal for maintaining target rate through speed changes, cornering, AutoSection switching and turning in headlands.
Virtual ISOBUS
HARDI NAVIGATOR, COMMANDER, ALPHA evo and SARITOR can all be operated with a virtual ISOBUS terminal. This means you can order a suitably equipped HARDI sprayer and use intelligent functions like AutoWash and PrimeFlow from your own ISOBUS controller.
Boom management systems
The HARDI AutoSlant, AutoHeight and AutoTerrain systems automatically deliver optimum boom ride. Aong with more recise spraying this helps improve the life of the boom and sprayer through reduced movement forces and near-zero chance of ground strike.
The systems also provide:
Robust and precise ultrasonic sensors
Choice of soil, crop or hybrid height modes
Proportional valve for smooth movements (AutoHeight, AutoTerrain)
Slant, tilt and height correction (AutoHeight, AutoTerrain)
Slant and height correction (AutoSlant)
AutoTerrain proactively responds to the causes of boom movement, rather than just the boom movement itself.
HARDI PARAGON Aluminium
When it comes to aluminium boom experience and know-how, HARDI is the market leader.
With 30 years’ experience in optimising lighter, stronger and wider Pommier Aluminium boom set-ups we offer farmers real advantages in field performance, reliability and durability – as well as weight reduction.
With aluminium boom wings weighing half as much as an equivalent steel structure, and our expertise in setting up Pommier Yaw dampening, the load and forces transferred to the centre during spraying are significantly reduced.
NAVIGATOR is offered with a choice of 24 m, 28 m or 30 m PARAGON TR4 booms, plus 36.5 m PARAGON B3 MAJOR boom for NAVIGATOR 5000/6000.
FORCE boom
The popular and well-proven FORCE boom is a robust steel boom available with NAVIGATOR 5000 or 6000 sprayers in 30 m, 32 m, 33 m and 36 m widths – providing options to suit virtually any farm.
These booms offer excellent handling in the field, thanks to yaw dampening control and inertia-based suspension. The trapeze centre uses dynamically linked coil springs to give the boom its smooth ride and stability.
The booms also features hydraulic wing tilt so the tips can be lifted over obstacles, or over fences while turning in tight headlands.
Three-way folding keeps the boom short and compact for transportation.
EAGLE boom – 18m to 30m
The popular and proven EAGLE booms are available with all four NAVIGATOR tank options, in a versatile choice of 18 m, 20 m, 21 m, 24 m, 28 m or 30 m widths.
Built around a rugged, two-dimensional steel structure with a coil spring self-stabilizing trapeze suspension, the EAGLE design ensures years of trouble free service, even in the toughest fields.
Nozzle bodies are located above and behind the boom structure for maximum protection, while non-directional spring-loaded breakaways protect the boom itself from damage.
Individual wing tilt is also available, for lifting the boom over obstacles in the field or fences when turning in headlands.
